Social, economic and environmental impact of the World Bank and the open-market economics it advocates.

Economist Demba Moussa Dembele, Director of the Forum for African Alternatives, Senegal. Forming part of the World Bank Boycott European Speakers Tour, the seminar will involve:
* a presentation by Mr Dembele on the effect of the World Bank, IMF and WTO on African society, and the alternative development policies proposed by African civil society;
* an introduction to the World Bank Boycott by its European co-ordinators, explaining how and why the campaign was conceived, how it works, and why it presents a succesful means of positive action against the sort of problems heard during the evening.
We will also follow up on EDM 854 "Publicly Created Money and Monetary Reform" and discuss how to respond to the letter of Ruth Kelly MP, Financial Secretary, and share other concerns, information and activities.

So far, 23 MPs have signed. 11 MPs signed EDM 1515 but not 854. David Chaytor MP will write to them and we will inform the press once we have more than 24 signatures, i.e. more than EDM 1515 had reached.
